Luke is a survivor. He had a rough childhood, his Mom was a loose cannon and often left Luke to deal with things on his own at a very young age.  Mom, Cyndi, was young when she had him and her marriage to his Dad didn't last very long. Luke's Dad left when he was just a baby and never looked back. 

Growing up as a teenager in Seattle, Luke was right in the heart of grunge and alternative music. Inspired by bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Music is what gave him the will to pursue a better life. As soon as he graduated high school, he worked his way into the music biz and in his early 20's worked prepping stages for musicians and bands all over.  The first time he came to New Orleans he knew this is where he wanted to settle down. So, after his wild partying days were behind him and the time came to move on he scraped together everything he had to open his business. About a year later he was introduced to Laura by a mutual friend and he has never regretted his decision to pack up and move to a new city.

Now as and adult she has made a name for herself in the restaurant business, and hopes to one day open her own cafe.  She is a very passionate person and believes that delicious food is the fuel that feeds it. Former lead singer of the alternative rock band "Rock Candy" which broke apart, shortly after Luke and Rufus' relationship ended.  So, for the 4 years after their breakup Rufus had lived quietly out of the spotlight, after the media was told she was sick and had suddenly decided to retire.  Rufus is strong willed and not afraid to go after what she wants, but has been known to have manic meltdowns leaving disaster in her wake. Her relationship with Luke wasn't much different and a volatile one, they often fought for domination in their relationship, causing way too much tension. So Luke left and it devastated Rufus but now she is back with a vengeance...Will we see more from her in the future?

Peter, in some ways, is a lot like Luke. They have known each other since they were both teenagers, both got jobs working the music scene together back in Seattle and became very close friends right away. They worked together for many, many, many years and they were best friends up until Luke quit, leaving everything behind. Peter did remember he mentioned something about settling down in New Orleans, so eventually Peter decided too to get out, he bounced around for awhile and fate finally brought these two old friends together again.

She has a degree in business but has just finished becoming a lawyer.

Cynthia was always a wild one. She was pregnant at 17 with Luke and married his father, David at 18 years of age. A year later they divorced and she raised Luke on her own. It wasn't easy being a single mom but she made it work at least she thought she did. Luke managed to grow up into a responsible adult despite her waywardness at times, and Cynthia couldn't be more proud of her son. She may be impulsive and make a lot bad decision but she never regrets having Luke. He's the best accomplishment she's ever done!

Those few years made a difference otherwise he wouldn't have met the love of his life, Krystal. She was studying to be an interior designer, so naturally they had some things in common right from the start. Even though it was love at first sight for Scott, he quickly learned that Krystal was engaged to be married to Justin Trudeau. In the end Krystal followed her heart and she broke off her engagement so she could be with Scott.

After Benjamin it was a struggle for the two to get pregnant again, finally some years later Mary-Beth gave birth to twins, Colton and Kenzie. Sadly these two would never get to know their mother, Mary-Beth passed away late one night when she was driving home, killed by a drunk, wrong way driver. Justin was a mess for a long time, that is until he met the much younger and beautiful Ellie Sinclair.

Then one day she found herself in a new job working for Trudeau Construction. So she worked hard and eventually found herself working as the lead secretary for the CEO Justin Trudeau. The romance was unexpected between the two but found they had a lot in common. When Ellie turned up pregnant, Justin decided that it was best if they marry. The family was  not on board at first but once they could see he was happy, and Ellie was a sweet genuine person, they let it go. It took a long time to gain Erica's approval but she finally did and life has been sweet.

Madison and Mason are Ellie and Justin's children. They are barely a year apart with Madison being the older one. Having these last two children made Justin feel whole again, he always wanted a big family...

She has changed her major at college several times, and thinking of changing it again...This has left Grandma Trudeau in a tizzy, she loathes indecisiveness, and is constantly pressuring Kenzie to help her father with the family business. Kenzie is more of a free spirit like her mother and I'm sure she will settle on a career path at some point.

Colton was the average all American boy, he enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing, and so on. But it wasn't easy being a teenage boy, telling his family that he was gay. Overall they accepted him with open arms, the start may have been a little rocky, but they all ultimately loved him and just wanted him to be himself and be happy with who he was. Kenzie introduced her brother to Jacob after she met and got to know him while workig for Luke at Vintage Vinyl one summer. The two have been exclusively dating since then!

As you can imagine, this did not go over well with Erica, but James wanted nothing to do with it. So there was a lot of bickering over it, James went off and eloped against his parents wishes, pretty much ending the feud, but he hasn't been as close to his family since...James doesn't mind he was glad to be away from all the drama and settle for a nice quiet life out in the country, and he has never regretted it.

Marilyn is a hard worker, this woman is not afraid to get her hands dirty. As a young woman she loved to go to the dance hall and boot scoot boogie the night away. Marilyn, had always envisioned herself marrying one of the local cowboys, and not some city slicker wanna be. But James proved her wrong, he may have come from money, but he knew his way around animals and a farm. Before she knew it she had fallen head over heels for him and that gorgeous twinkling smile, the kind that make all the ladies swoon. James and her eloped and with his trust fund of money bought a farm for his new bride, where they have built a wonderful life together.
